Updates on OPC personnel in Haiti

The devastating earthquake in Haiti on Tuesday, January 12, has left much of the area in and around the capitol of Port au Prince in shambles, with death and deprivation making life extremely difficult.  Our missionaries ministering there, Ben and Heather Hopp, as well as others who just “happened” to be in Haiti when the quake hit, were spared death, and for the most part, injuries.  Since Tuesday they have been active in rescuing people who were trapped in collapsed buildings, and have been doing all they can to help in other ways, including spiritual ones.

However, with the slow progress in distributing relief supplies of water, food, and medicines, the people are becoming increasingly desperate, so that the situation is becoming more dangerous each day.  As a results, efforts began to arrange for our people to be evacuated as soon as possible.
